In this house, we firmly believe in enjoying everything in moderation and that includes having a little something sweet every day!
For special occasions though, you need an all-out restaurant worthy dessert. This is what my family affectionately calls the “Cream Puff Stuff”. It is simply divine. It’s been a family favorite since I was a child and now that I’m grown, I’m keeping with tradition and sharing it with my own family. Even my picky little toddlers love this dessert.
It’s comprised of a light crust filled with creamy goodness and topped with COOL WHIP and a drizzle of chocolate. It is served chilled which makes it the perfect dessert for summertime cook outs! And aside from being delicious, it’s easy to make and rather impressive looking too, don’t you think?
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 2 (5 oz) boxes instant vanilla pudding
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups milk
- 1 tub COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- chocolate syrup
Spread mixture into a greased 9×13 pan. (The mixture will be thick but don’t worry, that’s how it should be!). I find it easiest to just pat the crust mixture into the pan with my hands. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Do not over-bake.
Keep dessert refrigerated and serve chilled.
