DIY Dreamsicle Sugar Body Scrub {with Free Tag Printables!}

Dreamsicles. For me, they are just one of those things that bring back memories of being a care-free kid in the summer time! The Orange-Vanilla scent is both whimsical, relaxing, and energizing. Creating body scrubs has become one of my favorite things this year. It’s so easy, fun, and it makes a great handmade gift. The cute little jar and wooden spoon I used once held Zhena’s Gypsy Tea (which is one of my favorite teas. You can find it at World Market). I saw similar jars with the spoons at Hobby Lobby last week too. I like using the evaporated cane juice in my scrubs since it’s a coarser sugar, but any coarse sugar should work fine.

These are the essential oils I used and the dropper by which the recipe is measured are shown below. Using my stand mixer and the paddle attachment, I combine the coconut oil and sugar and whip until well combined. Then add the essential oils and whip again. If it’s too “wet” add more sugar ¼ cup at a time until you get the desired consistency.

Put it in a cute jar and affix the labels and you’ve got a great handmade gift. I print the labels on card stock and cut by hand. If you want an extra pop of color, glue it to some pink card stock and cut around the label again (as shown). Use a hole punch to create a hole and tie  it to the jar with some Baker’s Twine.

    Your labels are super cute, but when I download them the resolution is horrible. What am I doing wrong? The labels are too blurry to use. Thanks!

  2. I can’t wait to try this! One question: where did you find the cute little spoon to go with the scrub? I’d like to make some of these for gifts and the spoons would be a nice touch.

    • Hi Amy! I actually save these adorable tea jars with the spoons by Zhena’s Tea and I buy them at World Market. But I saw very similar jars with the same wood spoons in them at Hobby Lobby in the glass section! :)

  3. What other oil can I use as I have an allergy to coconut ?

    • Hi Theresa! Probably any mild old (almond, jojoba). Just use less since they don’t solidify like coconut oil. :) Start with half the amount and add to desired consistency. Have a great day! -Dawn
