Geometric Metallic Canvas Art
Hello all you beautiful people! I am here and back at it again. I’m Bethany from Southern Couture.
Now I bet we could all agree that we all want our homes to look picture perfect. Am I right? But sometimes it seems like a picture perfect home is going to cost us an arm and leg that we just can’t afford to get rid of.
What if I told you that you could start on an adventure to that picture perfect home by decorating the walls with some simply stunning art? Go ahead and get excited and giddy. Jump around your living room because that is exactly what I want to share with y’all today.
Home décor and wall art doesn’t always have to cost a fortune. Decorate a large space with your own geometric metallic canvas art for much less than actually buying it yourself. This way you can also personalize it the way you want and to match your own room colors already.
- Painters tape
I wanted a geometric design so I just started placing painters tape on the blank canvas in different random patterns to form triangles. Play with your own design and style. You can place the tape sporadically and see what design it makes or have a specific pattern.
I used a metallic bronze and shimmer pink to match a microwave table that I recently made over with some stencils and these same paints.
I found that just the cheap foam paintbrushes worked best and are so easy to clean. The foam helped to give a smooth finish without the normal bristle marks. I painted 2 coats as well to make sure it was completely covered.
Once the paint has completely dried, just start removing the painters tape. For me this was the most exciting part to see what the random placement of tape had created. Plus I haven’t always had the best history with using stencils so I really wanted to make sure that the paint did not bleed under the tape.
How do you like the little pops of pink that I sneaked in there too? I know that my husband may not care for pink, but just a little pop of color is never a bad thing.
I hung it over the microwave table which matches just perfectly and makes the space perfect.
If you have a large wall that you need to cover, but you don’t want to spend a fortune then make several of these to hang in a group of about 3 to cover the entire wall. You can buy all different sizes of canvas too.
And don’t forget to enjoy the little things in life even if it’s just a little pop of pink!
Below you will also find a few of my latest projects as well.
