Adobe Illustrator Video Tutorial: Adding Character to Your Lettering
Yesterday, I share this photo on social media and several readers requested a tutorail on how I add the kraft paper, color, and shading digitially. It’s actually a pretty simple process!
Step One: Lettering
I did the lettering in Black and White using my iPad Pro. If you want to learn more about getting started with lettering on the iPad Pro, you can see my posts about it here:
After I complete the lettering on my iPad, I export it as a JPG and AirDrop it to my Macbook Pro so I can add some fun details in Adobe Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator (AI)
I work in Adobe Illustrator 90% (or more) of the time for design work. It’s such a fun and amazing program. You can get a free 30 day trial of AI on the Abobe Creative Cloud site HERE.
The steps I use to clean up my lettering and add coloring and shading are best shown via a video lesson. It’s around 13 minutes in length.
