Art + Lettering Challenge July Prompts
It’s time for the Art + Lettering Challenge July prompts! I turned the prompts into a printable PDF you can download below to have on hand for easy reference.
Download this month’s challenge HERE.
The Challenge will go live on Instagram on July 1, but it’s always nice to be prepared so I like to share them on the blog prior to the first of the month. Pretty please don’t share the prompts over on IG until you’ve seen me post them there.
Doing the challenge…
Just like I say every month, this challenge is NOT about perfection. It’s about practicing and having fun! I included some doodles on the image to help inspire you but don’t be afraid to search online for inspiration or better yet, take a walk or window shop to find inspiration. Just be sure to take what inspires you and really turn it into your own style.
Remember: Practice Makes Progress!
Here are two of my Pinboards where you can find some inspiration on lettering + doodles.
Follow Dawn Nicole Designs’s board Graphic Design | Hand-Lettering on Pinterest.

The only goal: Just create!
Be sure to tag your daily letterings + doodles over on Instagram with #DNDChallenge so we can all see it. You can also tag @bydawnnicole in your pic so I get a notification when you post.
Have you joined my FREE Art + Lettering class yet? It’s a great way to get even more practice. Click the image below to join (it’s run via Facebook group and set up so you can join in and catch up at any time)! Join the creative fun here.

What about the 31st?
I accidentally omitted it! It’s a day off. 😉
I’m new to these challenges. Are there examples that I could look at? I don’t get what I’m supposed to do with a doodle of a letter “B” drop cap?
Thanks for the help!
Hi Sandi! Check out the #DNDchallenge hashtag on Instagram and you’ll see a bunch. Or google “typography drop cap” for other examples. 🙂
