DIY Hand Lettered Painted Pumpkin
DIY Hand Lettered Painted Pumpkin
Besides Christmas, Fall is my favorite time of year to decorate. Why, you ask? Because of pumpkins! And they aren’t just for carving anymore! Add something fun to your Fall decor this year with a painted pumpkin.
Here’s what you’ll need to create a unique painted pumpkin:
– White craft pumpkin (I used a 6 inch one)
– Crisp paintbrush
First, using the metallic gold paint and your crisp brush, make small brush strokes vertically on each part of the pumpkin. The ends of each stoke don’t have to be perfect. The imperfectness gives it that brush stoke look.
Let it dry completely before painting the words.
Now, let’s add the phrase “hello fall”.
Using a black paint pen, start with the word “hello”. I choose to write it in script. If you don’t feel comfortable writing the words with guidelines, lightly pencil in your words to help you. Follow with “Fall” at the bottom.
Tip: Writing on a round surface is tough! Hold the pumpkin on an angle against a flat surface to make it easier to paint.
And viola! You now have a beautiful, unique pumpkin that I’m sure people will ask about! There are so many different ways to paint pumpkin- add polka dots, stripes, even glitter! Have fun with it and happy decorating!

Love this! I missed out decorating for fall/halloween the last 2 yrs because October is such a busy month for my family, but I’m determined to not let that happen again this year!
