My 4 ½ year old is very into all things girly…princesses, purses, getting her toes painted, jewelry, etc. In fact, we have to repeatedly tell her to put her purse down when she goes to the potty or comes to the dinner table. She is also getting very into dress up and pretend play so I thought this glammed up little brush would be a fun addition to the little vanity nook I did in her Enchanted Forest Fairytale room.
I also mistakenly thought maybe she wouldn’t scream like a crazy person every time we try to brush her hair (often before we even actually start brushing). She loves the brush. She still hates having her hair brushed.
Here’s what you need to make one:
- Hair Brush with a flat back
- Assorted Rhinestones
- Rhinestone Monogram (optional, I found this one at Michael’s)
- Strong Glue (such as E6000)
I started by applying the monogram (which was really sticky so I didn’t even add glue). Then I added the larger rhinestones. Last, I filled in all the spaces with the smallest rhinestones (I used these). I worked in sections, applying the glue to the hair brush and then pressing the rhinestones into the glue. My Silhouette Pick Me Up Rhinestone tool came in very handy for this step!
A little time consuming adding on all the tiny rhinestones but overall a very easy DIY that would make a great gift or princess party favor!
I might even make one for myself! 😉
