Easy DIY Makeup Storage
Hello again! I’m Jen, from Fresh Crush, and I’m so happy to be back for my next contributor post. This time, let’s talk makeup. Well, specifically, Easy DIY Makeup Storage. I’ve got a couple clever solutions for you — and they’re actually great for all sorts of organization, all over the house… so let’s get started!
It is easily attached anywhere with a few screws. It has such a clever and simple design, involving a cleat system. This is perfect for small items, like makeup, that you need to access readily and keep organized, but can take up valuable space, and get a little messy.
I love that these clean, white, plastic containers easily come down during use. It makes all that inevitable makeup dust a cinch to clean up. I pop them down as needed, and pop them back up, in two shakes of a lambs tail.
I’ve got mine hanging right beside my bathroom mirror above our sink. We’ve got a teeny tiny 2 piece ensuite bathroom. There is absolutely no room for makeup bags or baskets to clutter up our counter. There is just enough room for our sink within the vanity, so this has been a perfect solution.
But, I know what some of you are thinking — “But Jen, I don’t have an Ikea anywhere near me.”
A-HA! I have you covered too. I’ve come up with a DIY version, and it is super easy, you just need a few inexpensive supplies.
First, visit your recycle bin and find some light-weight containers. I found a couple plastic raison containers (my kid LOVES raisons), kicking around in my recycle box, ready for this up-cycle.
All you need is a wall-mounted, metal strip. I already had this one hanging in my office. I use it for little notes and family pictures.
Next, you need some high-powered magnets. Don’t try this with your regular fridge magnets, they likely won’t be able to support much weight. All that’s left to do is hot glue the magnets to your containers. Easy peasy.
Of course, you could really deck these out by using a little spray glue and wrapping the containers in your favourite fabric or pretty handmade paper. The sky’s the limit!
