Blogging as a Creative Business Free e-Course

This is how most conversations about what I do go:

Person: “Oh you work? I had no idea! What do you do?”

Me: “I’m a full-time blogger and artist.”

Person: Cocks head to one side and smiles awkwardly while saying “Uh…Oh, that’s cool.”

What I’m hearing is more of an “Oh, you blog? That’s cute.” kind of vibe.

I’m not offended by it in the slightest. Most people do not know that “Professional Blogging” is a legit job. Once they hear it is, they’re super curious about how you make money doing it.

I make far more money now than I ever made in my corporate HR job. The past few years of blogging, I’ve been bringing in over six figures. But more importantly, I have a career I love. I get to blog about Art + Hand Lettering and make great money doing it. How fun is that?!

Mondays are my favorite. I can’t wait to wake up and get to work.

Yep, I said it. I love Mondays!

Why? Because I love my work that much! Would you love to be able to say “I love Mondays!” too? In my FREE “Confessions of a Not-So-Starving Artist” Blogging series, I will teach you exactly how I turned my creative hobby into a six-figure business.

The Lessons

Originally, this was going to be a paid course, but I decided to share it for FREE in the form of blog posts!

CONFESSIONS OF A NOT-So-Starving Artist

Listen, y’all. I’m an introvert. I am not comfortable being sales-y. I tend to make decisions more with my heart than my head. These are not necessarily the typical traits of successful entrepreneurs.

But I’m also smart, business savvy, driven, and insanely punctual. I use methods that create organic, steady growth. No spammy tactics allowed! And while there are certainly many artists out there more talented than I, you’d be hard-pressed to find many people that are willing to put in all the hard work it takes to follow their dreams. I’m a person who is willing to put in that hard work.

This is for you if...

  • You're ready to put in the work. You must be dedicated to putting in the work if you want to reap the rewards. Blogging is hard work. And a lot of it. You have to wear a lot of hats, be extremely organized, and really love what you do. Blogging as a business, at its core, is a lot of heart and a whole lotta hustle.
  • You want the flexibility that working for yourself from the comfort of your own home allows.
  • You're already blogging but you're not sure what steps to take to turn it into a thriving business.

This is not for you if...

  • You're not already on (or willing to move to) a self-hosted WordPress blog. A lot of my tips involve amazing WP plugins that allow you to work smarter and make money doing it!
  • You're looking for a spammy, get rich quick kind of plan.
  • You're not an organized, self-starter. The only person you're accountable to is yourself, so these traits are a must to be successful in the business of blogging.
  • You're looking for a "How to Start a Blog" course. While I cover the main basics of starting a blog, the meaty part of the course covers turning your blog into a business.
