Happy Heart Color Palette
Over the last few months, I’ve worked with the Pink Sky Color Palette, the Quiet Pastels Color Palette, and the Rainbow Falls Color Palette.
This time I’ve been working with the Happy Heart Color Palette.
Noteworthy
Almost all of my posts on my Instagram include a “Swipe to watch the process video,” which shows you how I take things from a sketch to a final piece.
You can check out my iPad Lettering in Procreate tips on this blog page. I used a lot of the tutorials I’ve shared on that page in my lettering pieces below.

Using the Color Palettes
As per usual with this color palette series, I create a color palette and use it for nine IG posts in a row. After those nine posts, I switch to a fresh color palette.
Once again, I hope that you’ll use the palette and my work to inspire your own. Just remember, there’s a fine line between being inspired by someone else’s work and being a copycat, so be sure to create your own work.
- Right-click or screenshot the photos in the blog post to save each lettering example and color palette.
- Learn How to set up Custom Color Palettes in Procreate here.
- Use them in design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Match your physical art supplies (markers, color pencils, watercolors, etc.) to the palette and work the old-school way!
Lettering with the Happy Heart Color Palette
Below are all the pieces I created with this palette.
I’ll share a few details on how I created each piece below the photo.
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece One
Mixed doodle style lettering is my absolute favorite to create. Finding your style as a lettering artist takes time. It’s been a bit over six years since I started lettering, and it was just last year that I started to feel like I’ve found my signature style. It’s mixed up, doodle-y, colorful, imperfect, and, most importantly, “me.”
✒️ I used various brushes from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece. Mixed lettering is one of my favorite styles to play with and one of my signature styles.
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Two
“Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer.” -Dan Brown
I love how I get a fresh quote every time I open the Goodreads app. This one popped up the other day, and I found it so motivating; I knew I had to letter it!
✒️ I used various brushes from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece, mainly the Celestial Block Brush (Celestial Lettering Bundle) and Holiday Sparkle Stamp (Enchanted Winter Procreate Lettering Kit).
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Three
For this post, I was helping my friends at Tombow celebrate the launch of their fab new Tombow ABT Pro Markers.
IG PRO TIP: Fitting sponsored work into your IG feed is a breeze when you create custom artwork for it. I made this the primary photo and had people swipe to see the actual pictures of the Tombow ABT Pros.
✒️ I used various brushes from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece. (Sensing a theme here? LOL!)
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Four
The exact lettering/calligraphy in this piece is one of the styles you can practice in my new 30 Days of Celestial Brush Calligraphy Workbook!
You can also reach the iPad Lettering tutorial for this lettering over in my Reach for the Stars Procreate Video Lesson.
✒️ I used the Celestial Lettering brushes and stamps from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece.
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Five
Adding texture to your Procreate work is a super simple way to “level up” your lettering.
✒️ Created with the Monoline Brush + Heart Stamps from my Creative Lettering Procreate Bundle (from my Procreate Brush Bundles).
Here’s a close-up of the texture.
Below is a quick tutorial on how to add texture.
I purchased this particular digital paper texture from Creative Market, but you could easily make or photograph your own textures. The one I used had a chipboard paper-like visual texture to it.
And that’s it!
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Six
I’m introverty year round but come the cold-weather season, I level up from a homebody to a hermit.
So for the next few months, you can most likely find me on my couch in fuzzy socks with the fireplace roaring, an Apple Pencil in one hand, and a big mug of hot mint tea in the other.
I’ll be watching Hulu with one eye and our new German Shepherd puppy with the other. If you missed pics in my IG stories the day we got Theo, you can head to this post on IG and swipe to see how cute he is.
✒️ I used various brushes from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece, namely my DND Celestial Block Brush and stamps from my Enchanted Winter Procreate Kit.
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Seven
This was another sponsored post to share all about my new DreamBox!
Once again, I created custom lettering and then added photos of the DreamBox that you can swipe to see (on IG).
✒️ I used various brushes from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece.
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Eight
Cozy (adjective): giving a feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation.
✒️ I used the DND Monoline Brush from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece.
Happy Heart Color Palette Piece Nine
Does anyone else get the “Sugar Rush” song from Wreck-It Ralph stuck in their head every time they see or hear this phrase?
Are you a sweet or salty person? I don’t really like candy (unless you count dark chocolate, which I have every.single.day).
I’d rather eat a bunch of salty chips, popcorn, or my favorite comfort food: French fries. My kids, on the other hand, it’s a full-time job this time of year to make sure they aren’t subsisting purely off sugar!
✒️ I used the DND Monoline Brush from my Procreate Brush Bundles for this piece.
