BE KIND TO YOURSELF…
Ok, friends, I think we need a little heart-to-heart pep talk.
This blog has turned into a Creative Community this year.
I love that. It makes my creative heart happy.
I also love seeing all your artwork.
But I can’t help but notice how many of you share a picture of your work and include a disclaimer like “It’s not very good but…” or something along those lines.
Don’t do that friends! Be kind to yourself. The goal of my monthly Instagram art challenges and Art + Lettering Class Exercises are simply to practice our art skills! We’re all at different places in our creative journeys.
Strive for progress, not perfection.
And truth be told, I’m not a big fan of overly perfect art anyway. The imperfections and nuances of hand-drawn art and lettering are what I find so very charming!
Embrace your unique style and BE PROUD of your work and your progress!
In other words, Honor Your Pace.
Keep this reminder handy with free printables + phone wallpapers!

For the phone wallpaper, download right on your phone and save to your photos. Then set as phone wallpaper. If you download the image on your computer, email it to yourself and then open the email on your phone and save the image to your photos. Then select the photo and set as phone wallpaper.
P.S. This is just as much a reminder to myself as it is to all of you. It’s easy to compare your work to others and I think most of us tend to be overly self-critical. It’s a nasty habit we all need to break.
P.P.S. I also think I’ll hang this by my treadmill. I run slow and I’m going to learn to be proud of doing running no matter how fast or slow I may go. Honor your pace.
In addition to a pep talk, a little retail therapy never hurts…
Because fonts make people happy. And so do awesome deals.
The two fonts I used for these are from the awesome new Fontabulous Font bundle from The Hungry JPEG. Over 70 fonts for $29. What? That’s a total steal for commercial use fonts!
Want a preview of all 70+ Drool-worthy fonts? Of course you do!
Sorry, I’m a total font-hoarding enabler. (Perhaps, #sorrynotsorry would be more appropriate?) 😉
