Mixed Lettering Inspiration: Magazine Project
Not long ago I posted a lesson how I create my signature mixed lettering styles. This first challenge is based on one of the several ways I find inspiration for mixed lettering projects, like those shown below.
Create a styled piece as I’ve done in the photos in this post. Get as creative as you’d like with this!

Post your photo to Instagram and tag it with #yesDNDfeatures if you’d be okay with me featuring it in a coming blog post (with full credit and a link to your Instagram account, of course!)
Completing the Challenge
Grab a stack of magazine and a pair of scissors. Cut out letters in a variety of styles. Mix and match them to create a word or phrase that is aesthetically pleasing.
Because you can quickly move the cut out letters around, much like a puzzle, it’s a great way to brainstorm ideas for a lettering piece.
Here are a few I did to help inspire you…
I can’t wait to see what you create for this challenge!
