Organizational Desktop Wallpapers
A few weeks ago, I had enough of my hot mess desktop. I had so many folder and files from blogging and design work that I couldn’t find anything. So I worked on organizing my files and folders but I wanted to take it one step further and really get it tidy! So I Googled “Organizational Desktop Wallpapers”, not really knowing it if was a “thing”. Turns out it is, and I found some cute ones but nothing that totally fit my needs, so I designed my own.
I designed 4 styles so I could share them with you and I created each style with and without text, so you can tailor them to fit your needs. If the ones with text don’t work for you, download one without text and add your own labels using a free program like Picasa or PicMonkey.
Now my desktop is so neat and organized and I love it!
For each option below, simply click the photo to open the version and then right click the image and save it to your desktop. Then you just set that image as desktop wallpaper (on my Macbook, I can just right click the image from my desktop and opt to “Set Desktop Picture”).
Just select your favorite(s) below!
Happy organizing!

I am moving to a Windows OS for work and I wish that the desktop allowed you to not be in rows/columns unlike the Mac… I love this idea… I’ll just have to figure out something else for me. But at least when I upgrade my personal computer at home it will be to a Mac so I can at least do this at home!
You can actually change it so it doesn’t align to a grid!
Right click on the desktop screen > view > uncheck mark both auto arrange icons and align icons to grid.
Hope this helps!
This is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen! I just downloaded the mint colored one with the washi tape to use at work. I love it! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Hi Chanté, you’re so welcome and thanks for the kind words! I use the mint/washi tape one on my laptop and the glitter on my iMac! Yay for staying (mostly) organized! 🙂 Have a great week! xo, Dawn
I love this . I downloaded the mint first but could not see my folder names and couldn’t work out how to change the font colour – so I now have an awesome hot pink desktop ! Great idea !
I have been WAITING to find you — I love this idea. THanks for the FREEBIE!!
I also adore your Bookmarks! I run a children’s literacy program. Do you have any children themed bookmarks? I would love to include in the class art project.
Thanks!!
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much. Would these Winter Bookmarks work for the kiddos?

ps – I accidently clicked on one of your banners and it installed malware on my laptop. =( I caught it but wasn’t to happy – it was the PDF maker.
Hi Jennifer!
Sorry to hear that. I use a very reputable ad network so I wrote them immediately because I’ve never had a complaint before and certainly wouldn’t want that coming from my site! This was their response:
“We have malware scanners running on our network so this shouldn’t be anything coming from your AdThrive ads. I did run your site through a malware scanner to see if anything came up and it’s coming up clean for me. You can see the results of that test here. It could have also been caused by a script running on your reader’s computer. If for some reason this happens again and you’re able to grab a screenshot, please let us know and we’ll try to see if we can find the source. Please let us know if you have any additional questions about this!”
Thanks so much!
Dawn,
Hi! I am back on my laptop. Here is a screen shot of my home screen that was changed. They can see the address it was changed to and I also included the page that I clicked on the PDF maker. (it was the bookmark page) I mistakenly click on that for the bookmarks.
I am bringing my laptop to apple to make sure all clear. I run my life on this little guy =)
