Playful Serifs: Letter E
Moving right along to week five of twenty-six!
New to this series? Pop over to the Playful Serifs series homepage for all the details and to download what you’ll need to join in the lettering fun.
I’m sharing it first if you’re just here for this week’s video, but I’ve included some additional information in the blog post you may find helpful. So, keep scrolling for more details, especially if you’re new to hand-lettering.
WATCH THE Video Lesson
This week’s video is just a bit over 10 minutes long.
Watch the video for more details, but here are a few main style features of this letter.
- Bifurcated Tuscan Serif with Decorative Gothic Elements. Check out the graphic below for some common serif styles. I include this image each week in case anyone new joins this ongoing series.
- Low-Contrast Stroke Width Variation. This means some letter strokes are thin, and some are thick, but the variation between the two is low.
