A Year of Color: June Challenge Prompts
Be sure to tag your daily letterings + doodles over on Instagram with #DNDyearofcolor and/or #DNDChallenge so we can all see it. You can also tag me, @bydawnnicole, in your pic so I get a notification when you post.
Doing the Challenge
Get an overview of the “A Year of Color” challenges basics here.
Think of it kind of like word association. You can draw or letter anything the color prompt makes you think of.
June is a wee bit different because I took some of the color names and made a list of color “puns” just for something fun! This list was inspired by some of my nail polish color names.
If you’re not sure what a prompt color name actually is…Google it! Because Google knows everything (and these are all actual colors from various color charts).
Print the A Year of Color: June Challenge Prompts
As per usual, I turned the prompts into a printable PDF you can download below to have on hand for easy reference.

The Challenge will go live on Instagram in a few days, but it’s always nice to be prepared so I like to share them on the blog prior to the first of the month. Pretty please don’t share the prompts over on IG until you’ve seen me post them there.

Dawn:
I just discovered you today and I’m already hooked!! I’ve just recently started experimenting with “coloring” using markers and water colors and find it very therapeutic. Although I haven’t attempted any lettering, after exploring your site, I will absolutely expand into this area. I’ve been searching your site for the “Enjoy the ride” with the bicycle, but I can’t locate it. Can you please tell me where I can find it?? Thanks!
Mellanie
Hi Mellanie! Thank you so much! I actually don’t think I’ve ever posted the Enjoy the Ride page on the blog. It’s an old piece and I’m working on redoing many of them. I’ve added to my list for future blog posts. 🙂
