10 FOLKSY FLOWERS TO DRAW: Let’s get sketchin’!
I will share a visual step-by-step guide for drawing each flower. After you draw your lineart, have fun adding colors and details to make them unique.
💡 Tip: At the end of this blog post, check out my tips for customizing each flower to give it your personal flair!
Folksy Flower No. 1: Puddle Petal
Shows its imperfections in the cutest way possible—irregular and lovable.
💡 Tip: Keep your petals loose and flowy—think puddly and organic. The charm is in the imperfections!
Folksy Flower No. 2: Bumble Blossom
A bee’s best friend—bright, welcoming, and buzzing with charm.
💡 Tip: Use heart-shaped petals and a bold sunshiny center to make this flower stand out. Add a bee if you’re feeling cutesy!
Folksy Flower No. 3: Flutterbud
Like a happy heart that’s mid-flutter—this bloom looks ready to fly away.
💡 Tip: Lean into the folksy vibes! Draw a butterfly as the center of your flower and surround it with tulip-inspired layers.
Folksy Flower No. 4: Sprinkle Cookie Flower
Who says your flowers have to be conventional? This confetti-loving flower looks like it just came from a party. Speaking of parties…How cute would this be on a party invite? I opted to forgo a stem and leaves on this one, but feel free to play with adding some to fit your vision.
💡 Tip: Add confetti curlieque petals and sprinkles around a bow center, and decorate the “white space” around the cookie flower with playful curls, dots, and sparks.
Folksy Flower No. 5: Enchanted Bloom
Full of enchanted vibes and gradient colors, this flower belongs in a storybook.
💡 Tip: Use soft, rounded shapes and hearts. Let some petals, leaves, and the bud overlap the central flower.
Folksy Flower No. 6: Fairytale Floral
If you flip this flower upside down, it resembles a ruffled-edged bell with a tutu. Swirly vines and sparks give it a fairytale-esque vibe.
💡 Tip: Draw an upside-down bell-like shape with ruffled edges as your sepal. Add flair with the colors and details.
Folksy Flower No. 7: Button Bloomer
Simple but charming! This little cutie looks great in clusters or borders without the stem.
💡 Tip: Start with a button in the center and then draw bubbly petals around it. Next, add simple stitching details—easy and adorable.
Folksy Flower No. 8: Fluffy Puff
A fluffy flower topped with puffballs of sunshine—it’s the kind of flower you blow on and make a wish!
💡 Tip: Use rounded petal shapes and draw lots of them tightly together for a cute puffy look.
Folksy Flower No. 9: Doodlecup Delight
An adorable, droopy flower that looks like it’s swaying in the breeze.
💡 Tip: Draw a curved center and let the blooms hang down with doodle-y lines and dotted details.
Folksy Flower No. 10: Doodle Daisy
Cheerful, happy, and super simple—this daisy’s always a bright spot.
💡 Tip: Keep your petals spaced evenly(ish) around a larger center for that classic daisy look.
