Importing a Color Palette into Procreate

Color palettes created specifically for Procreate are in a .swatches file format. 

  1. Download the .swatches or .zip file color palette onto your iPad.
  2. If the file is zipped, uncompress it first. To do this, open the Files app, then find the .zip file you want to uncompress. Tap the .zip file. A folder containing the .swatches file will be created.
  3. Open Procreate and select the Palettes tab.
  4. Tap the + in the corner. Choose the New from file option and locate your .swatches file. 
  5. Tap the .swatches file. It will now appear in your color palettes.

Noteworthy

  • If you download the Color Palette on a MacBook, you can AirDrop it to your iPad, which should auto-install into your Procreate Palettes. This is how I do it most of the time. It’s ultra-easy!

Based just outside St. Louis, she shares life with her Air Force husband, their three teenagers, a Great Dane, and a German Shepherd. An Enneagram 1w9, Dawn is a rule-following dreamer who’s obsessed with ampersands, French macarons, getting in a daily Peloton or Fit with Coco workout, and trying to outdrive her husband on the golf course. Because nothing says party like crawling into your cozy bed with a good book at 8 pm. 🤓

I just finished my 50th book of 2025, so I thought it would be the perfect time to share this artwork and a book rec list.

Here are all the books I’ve given five stars so far this year.

Immortal Consequences by I.V. Marie (Probably my favorite book of 2025!!!)
The Compelling Fates Saga Series by Sophia St. Germain (I read books one and two. SO GOOD. Book three is out in August and I can’t wait! If you like Sarah J. Maas books, you’ll like this series.)
Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
Forget Me Not by Stacey Willingham
The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith (Historical Fiction meets Fantasy. I loved every minute!)
The  Man Made of Smoke by Alex North
A Terribly Nasty Business by Julie Seales (book two of the Beatrice Steele series)
