Beveled Serif HOLIDAY Art Tutorial

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create dimensional, vintage-inspired serif letters and decorate them with whimsical flourishes, hearts, and holly for a joyful holiday vibe.
Whether you’re new to digital lettering or looking to refine your embellishment skills, this project is the perfect way to spread a little creative cheer.
Project Supply List
- iPad, Apple Pencil, and the Procreate App. This is the magic trio for all iPad Lettering!
- Procreate Brushes. The exact ones I use in the video tutorial are listed below.
- Monoline. I used the DND Monoline from my Dawn Nicole Original Procreate Brush Set.
- Embellishment Stamps. To create the ornate frame, I used an embellishment, flourish, and ornament stamp from my Playful Embellishments brush kit. I’ll explain which ones I chose, why, and how I altered them to fit this artwork in the video lesson!
- Beveled Serif Lettering Style.. I used the Beveled Serif from my Optimist Lettering Style. I’ll show you how I altered it to fit this piece in the video tutorial.
- Joyful Christmas Color Palette. You can use any palette you like, of course, but if you want to use the same one I’m using, you can download it for free right here.

This video tutorial is a bit over 30 minutes long, and we’re using a short word in the lesson to keep it from being too overwhelming. It’s friendly for both newbies and intermediate Procreate users.
