Bookish Procreate Color Palette
Color palettes are coming back to the blog!
If you’ve been around a while, you may have noticed most of my blog content disappeared. I’ve been blogging here since 2011, and so much of my content felt dated and didn’t match my new aesthetic and style, so I took a big risk and deleted hundreds of posts. It was scary, but having a fresh start feels good!
I left some of my Procreate Tutorials up and will gradually update those and add new content (color palettes, coloring pages, lettering styles, and the like).
- This Bookish Color Palette is the first of more coming to the blog!
- I share an exclusive free Procreate Color Palette in my monthly newsletter. This year, I’m also giving away a free Procreate Brush in each newsletter, and you get my Besties Procreate Brush set as a sign-up gift.
- The artwork in this post is one I drew for my upcoming Modern Folk Art Coloring Book, which will be released later this year.
Ok, Let’s move on to what you came here for!
ImportING a Color Palette into Procreate
Color palettes created specifically for Procreate are in a .swatches file format.
- Download the .swatches or .zip file color palette onto your iPad.
- If the file is zipped, uncompress it first. To do this, open the Files app, then find the .zip file you want to uncompress. Tap the .zip file. A folder containing the .swatches file will be created.
- Open Procreate and select the Palettes tab.
- Tap the + in the corner. Choose the New from file option and locate your .swatches file.
- Tap the .swatches file. It will now appear in your color palettes.
Noteworthy
- If you download the Color Palette on a MacBook, you can AirDrop it to your iPad, which should auto-install into your Procreate Palettes. This is how I do it most of the time. It’s ultra-easy!
