Calligraphy is a form of writing in which we use pressure to control stroke width using special brush pens or dip pens to create beautiful script writing.

Lettering Tools
All you really need is paper and a writing tool, but here are some of my personal favorites
- For Monoline & Cursive: any pencil, felt tip, or ballpoint pen will do. Want to be fancy? Try a glass dip pen and ink.
- Basic Hand Lettering: Blackwing Pencils are my ultimate favorite.
- Brush Lettering: The Tombow Fudenosuke pens are ideal for beginners. They come in a hard and soft flexibility option. I’d start with the soft and move to the hard once you’re more intermediate.
- For Digital Lettering: I love the iPad, Procreate App, and Apple Pencil. Nothing else on the market compares!
