Pinky Promise Style Tips for Letter D

  • Pattern Ideas for Letter D. The large curved bowl of the letter D provides plenty of room for playful patterns. Try filling it with tiny stars, polka dots, checkerboard diamonds, stripes, hearts, or stitched details. You can also keep the vertical stem solid while adding a pattern only to the rounded portion for a fun contrast.
  • Heart Placement Ideas. The open counter of the letter D is the perfect place for a heart. Replace the traditional counter with one oversized heart for a bold focal point, or add a smaller heart inside the counter with sparkles or stitched details. Hearts can also peek outside the edge of the letter to give your design a whimsical touch.
  • Decorative Outline Ideas. The smooth curves of the letter D look especially charming when layered. Try a thick sticker-style border, a delicate double outline, scalloped edges, or a soft drop shadow to add depth. You can also outline just the heart inside the counter to make it stand out as the focal point of your design.
  • Doodle Ideas. Enhance your letter D with simple doodles that complement its rounded shape. Swirls, sparkles, stars, bows, dots, or tiny hearts all work beautifully. A playful crown, as shown in the sample design, adds a whimsical finishing touch and gives the letter even more personality.

How to Download & OPEN Files

Each post of this series will feature a set of free worksheets. Here’s how to download the files.

If you’re using a computer:

  1. Download the ZIP file.
  2. Double-click the ZIP file to unzip it, which creates a standard folder containing the files.
  3. Open the folder, then locate the .procreate file and/or the PDF.
  4. Send to your iPad using AirDrop, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or email.
  5. On your iPad, tap the file and select “Open in Procreate” to open the Procreate file, or tap the PDF to open it in your preferred app.

If you’re doing it directly on your iPad:

  1. Download the ZIP file and open the Files app.
  2. Go to your Downloads folder or the location where you saved it.
  3. Tap the ZIP file once. The iPad will automatically unzip it into a new folder.
  4. Open the new folder and tap the .procreate file.
  5. Tap Share → Open in Procreate (or it may open automatically)

You look like the Fourth of July ❤️🇺🇸💙

Slow mornings, sweet thoughts, strawberry skies. 🍓✨ Who else is so ready for summer?

I’ve been a bit MIA around here lately because life decided to hand us a completely unexpected adventure. We spontaneously moved into a new-to-us 70s A-frame on a large pond and a bit over 3 acres of land, all somehow within our school district.

It was an “as is” sale. Over 200 people attended the open house, and there were 8 offers. We genuinely never expected to get it, but somehow, we did. And now we’ve been here almost a month already, completely in love with this quirky little dream house.

Since then, it’s basically been nonstop unpacking, organizing, painting, and trying to survive the steady stream of contractors and projects. And let me tell you, painting heavily textured 70s walls deserves its own Olympic event. Most days, I’ve gotten well over 20k steps! 😅

On top of all that, our oldest graduates from high school next week, which honestly feels impossible, emotional, and exciting all at once. So things have been just a tiny bit chaotic over here lately.

But even in the middle of all the boxes and paint rollers, I’ve still been creating tons of free lettering content over on the blog and YouTube. Over the past few months, I’ve shared:
