  1. Draw the letter frame.
  2. Add weight. 
  3. Add color and refine.
  4. Add fun details and more color!

Pinky Promise Style Tips for Letter E

  • Pattern Ideas for Letter E. The broad shape of the letter E makes it ideal for bold, repeating patterns. Try decorating the letter with checkerboard diamonds, gingham, stripes, polka dots, tiny flowers, or scattered stars. You can also add a pattern to just the vertical stem or one of the horizontal bars to create contrast while keeping the design clean and playful.
  • Heart Placement Ideas. Although the letter E doesn’t have an enclosed counter, hearts still make charming accents. Add a small heart to the end of one of the horizontal bars, replace one of the decorative flowers with a heart, or scatter tiny hearts around the letter as whimsical embellishments. Keeping the hearts small helps preserve the letter’s clean shape.
  • Decorative Outline Ideas. A decorative outline can completely transform a simple letter E. Try a scalloped border, a stitched outline, a chunky sticker-style edge, or a soft drop shadow for extra dimension. Layering two outline colors or adding a subtle offset shadow creates even more depth while staying true to the Pinky Promise style.
  • Doodle Ideas. The straight edges of the letter E pair beautifully with cute decorative doodles. Surround the letter with tiny flowers, sparkles, bows, swirls, dots, stars, or hearts to add personality. Floral accents climbing the vertical stem, as in the sample design, create a sweet, garden-inspired variation that still feels simple and playful.
  • Alternate Letter E Ideas. Once you’ve mastered the basic Pinky Promise letter E, experiment with different decorative themes. Try a checkerboard E with a scalloped outline, a floral E with soft shadows, a striped E with tiny hearts, or a polka-dot E finished with sparkles.

How to Download & OPEN Files

Each post of this series will feature a set of free worksheets. Here’s how to download the files.

If you’re using a computer:

  1. Download the ZIP file.
  2. Double-click the ZIP file to unzip it, which creates a standard folder containing the files.
  3. Open the folder, then locate the .procreate file and/or the PDF.
  4. Send to your iPad using AirDrop, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or email.
  5. On your iPad, tap the file and select “Open in Procreate” to open the Procreate file, or tap the PDF to open it in your preferred app.

If you’re doing it directly on your iPad:

  1. Download the ZIP file and open the Files app.
  2. Go to your Downloads folder or the location where you saved it.
  3. Tap the ZIP file once. The iPad will automatically unzip it into a new folder.
  4. Open the new folder and tap the .procreate file.
  5. Tap Share → Open in Procreate (or it may open automatically)

You look like the Fourth of July ❤️🇺🇸💙

Slow mornings, sweet thoughts, strawberry skies. 🍓✨ Who else is so ready for summer?

I’ve been a bit MIA around here lately because life decided to hand us a completely unexpected adventure. We spontaneously moved into a new-to-us 70s A-frame on a large pond and a bit over 3 acres of land, all somehow within our school district.

It was an “as is” sale. Over 200 people attended the open house, and there were 8 offers. We genuinely never expected to get it, but somehow, we did. And now we’ve been here almost a month already, completely in love with this quirky little dream house.

Since then, it’s basically been nonstop unpacking, organizing, painting, and trying to survive the steady stream of contractors and projects. And let me tell you, painting heavily textured 70s walls deserves its own Olympic event. Most days, I’ve gotten well over 20k steps! 😅

On top of all that, our oldest graduates from high school next week, which honestly feels impossible, emotional, and exciting all at once. So things have been just a tiny bit chaotic over here lately.

But even in the middle of all the boxes and paint rollers, I’ve still been creating tons of free lettering content over on the blog and YouTube. Over the past few months, I’ve shared:
