• What Do I Need for this Class? You’ll need an iPad, Apple Pencil, and the Procreate App. Everything else you’ll need is included in your class downloads.
• Can I watch it anytime? Yes! The class is pre-recorded and available to watch at your convenience. You have lifetime access.
• Is it okay if I’m new to Procreate and/or Calligraphy? Yes, you are the intended audience for this class. We’ll take things step-by-step. I love project-based learning because it makes things more fun and easier to understand.

What to watch for

• A common mistake is making strokes feel too stiff. Try to keep everything fluid.
• Make sure your thick downstroke is actually thick (don’t be shy with pressure)!
• Try not to rush—smooth > fast.

Practice Tips for a Better “I”

“I” is simple, but it’s where consistency and control really start to show. It doesn’t have any distractions, so every little wobble or pressure issue is way more noticeable (no hiding here 😅).

• Focus on clean, straight downstrokes. Your lowercase “i” is basically one controlled stroke: Apply steady, even pressure. Keep it straight (or intentionally slightly slanted). If this line is shaky, it’ll show immediately.

• Light, clean entry and exit strokes. Don’t skip these. They help your lettering flow when forming words.
  Keep them: thin, smooth, and not overly long.

• Be intentional with the tittle (dot). The dot is small, but it matters: Place it centered above the stem. Keep it consistent in size. Don’t float it too high or squash it too close.

• Watch your spacing. Because “i” is so narrow, the spacing between letters becomes more obvious. Make sure it doesn’t feel crammed or awkwardly spaced between words.

• Uppercase “I” = simple, but styled. You can go minimal (just a stroke) or add slight serifs or curves. Just keep it consistent with your overall style.

• Keep proportions in check. Lowercase “i” should sit neatly at x-height. Dot should feel balanced, not oversized.

• Slow down (seriously). This is one of the best letters to practice control. Treat it like a drill, not a throwaway letter.

Common Mistakes

• Pressing too hard on every stroke (you’ll lose contrast).
• Uneven shapes.
• Rushing through the letter instead of building it intentionally.

💡Extra Tip (Underrated but Important)

Practice rows of just:

• downstroke → lift → dot

Over and over. It might feel basic, but it sharpens your control fast, and that carries into every other letter.

“I” might be small, but it’s doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work for your overall consistency.
